Betty Frances Short

Betty Frances Short, 93, of Concord, NC passed away Monday, February 2, 2026.

Betty was born June 3, 1932 in Gastonia, NC to the late Claude Watson Hill and the late Margaret Catherine Hill.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Earl Short; her oldest son, Carlyle Short; sisters, Billie Faye Christopher and Carol King.

Survivors include son, Rodney Short and wife Kiki of Concord, NC; daughter, Wendy Wade of China Grove, NC; daughter, Jewel Durham and husband Billy of Kannapolis, NC; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Betty had a strong faith in the Lord. She loved reading her bible and coloring. She loved taking long walks and going to the beach. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved watching Gene Autry movies. Betty will be dearly missed by her family.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord, NC. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Pastor Chad Cozad. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
