Betty Lowder

Betty Greene Lowder, 73 years of age, of Locust, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at her residence.

Betty was born March 20, 1941 in Stanly County, NC to the late Claude and Gertie Lambert Greene. She was also preceded in death by son, David "Plug" Lowder; and a grandson Aaron Lowder.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, December 26, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Locust officiated by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn. Mrs. Lowder will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include husband of 56 years, Gene Lowder of the home; son, James Lowder and wife, Wendy of Locust; grandson, Devin Lowder, granddaughter Casey Lowder, grandson Brent Lowder, granddaughter,Stephanie Lowder, and step granddaughter, Kylie Frick; one brother, Gary Greene of Albemarle; and one sister, Phyllis Hunter of Stanfield.

Betty was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Locust.
