Betty Russell

Betty Jean Russell, 84, of Concord, passed away on May 3, 2021 at Atrium Health in Concord, NC.

She was born on April 17, 1937 to Floyd and Edna Russell in Concord, NC.   She worked for Cannon Mills for over 30 years and was devoted to her job no matter what.  Betty enjoyed cooking and spending quality time with her family. She adored her grand and great grand kids and her favorite saying was “She wished she had all four of her kids small again and in diapers sucking bottles."  Betty was a joy to be around and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by her loving children, Sheila Harvell (Roger), "Chubby" Barbara Clark (Dale), "JuneBug" Roy Lee Morris, Jr. (Dicie), and "Speedy" Patricia Newton; sister, Barbara Russell Lentz; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by mother, Edna Ann Huffstickler Russell; father, Floyd Holland Russell; and husband, Roy Lee Morris, Sr.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, NC.  The funeral service in celebration of Betty's life will follow at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Kevin Hartsell.  Following the service, the Russell family will host a gathering at Chubby's Home in Concord.
