Betty Howard Smith

Betty Burris Smith, 89, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at The Landings in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Smith was born March 14, 1936 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late James T. Hudson and the late Pearl Carriker Hudson.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Richard Burris, and survived by her present husband Calvin Smith.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the West Concord Cemetery at 1pm. The Rev. Don Burleyson will be officiating. The cemetery is located at 331 Union Cemetery Rd SW, Concord.

Survivors include daughter, Pamela Smith of Concord, NC. son, Rick Burris and wife Jo of Rockwell NC. Step daughters Pam Carver and Jan Sellers of Concord NC. Also surviving are, her grandchildren Jason Page of Concord NC and Crystal Page of Kannapolis NC, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
