Betty Carpenter

Betty Jean Carpenter, 91, of Albemarle, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Spring Arbor of Albemarle.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on October 2, 1931, to the late Floyd Wilson and Nettie Thomas Moore. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Carpenter; brothers, Shelly Moore, Billy Moore; sisters, Lois Allen, Blanche Curlee.

Betty Jean worked in the textile industry and enjoyed gardening. She loved the Lord and was faithful to her church for over 60 years.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 pm, on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Main Street United Methodist Church, 1100 West Main Street, Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. officiated by Rev. Ben Floyd.  Burial will conclude at the Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Blankenbaker and husband Les; son, Rick Carpenter; daughter, Terri Barringer and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Kristi Furr and husband, Chris, "Hutch" Kirkpatrick, Keni Johnson and husband, Dave, Eric Carpenter, Madison Hester and husband, Josh, Mason Barringer and wife, Caitlin; great-granddaughters, Abby Furr, Hannah Furr, Ella Furr, Emerson Hester, Elliott Barringer, Rylee Barringer.
