Beatrice Carey

Beatrice Lucille (Thompson) Carey, 100, formerly of Ulysses, PA died Sunday, February 26, 2023 peacefully at home in Flat Rock, NC.

Born September 15, 1922 in Ulysses, PA, she was the daughter of Forest and Myrtle Thompson. On February 1, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, she married Harold L Carey who predeceased her on May 3, 1997. They later moved to Rochester, NY and then North Myrtle Beach, SC. After Harold’s death, Beatrice moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

She is survived by her 5 children: Milinda Carey Castano (Orlando), Harrisburg, NC, Donna Carey Ober (Will), Moore Haven FL, Thomas H Carey (Susan), Rock Hill, SC, Patricia Carey LaMonica, Mooresville, NC and Cathy Carey Lewis Flat Rock, NC, and 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents Forest and Myrtle Thompson and two brothers, Howard Thompson (Marge) and Louis Thompson (Doris).

Final arrangements will be announced at a later date. She will be interred with her beloved husband at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens in Little River Beach, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Operation Shower, 7382 Pershing Ave, Suite 1E, St. Louis, MO 63130, an organization that was very dear to her heart.
