Arlene Parsons Whitley

Arlene Parsons Whitley, 92, of Midland passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday July 2, 2025.

Her funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Midland on Friday, July 11th starting with visitation from 1:00-2:00pm, followed by a memorial service conducted by Pastor Dr. Randy Lankford.

Arlene was born August 08, 1932 in Pekin, NC, to W.C. “Cliff” Parsons and Myrtle Rae Boyd Parsons. She was preceded in death by her husband L.W. “Bunk” Whitley, sisters Mazel Andrews and Eleanor Panetti.

She is survived by one sister Myrtle Rae Blake, two children, Cliff Whitley (Margie) of Statesville, NC, and Lorraine Peebles (Patrick) of Norwood, NC.

Arlene was “Memaw” to 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Arlene received a Degree in Business Administration from Greensboro Women’s College in 1954. She and her husband started a successful manufacturing company in 1960 that still operates today. She continued to work in her business until near the end of 2024.

Her passions in life were her Savior Jesus Christ, her Family, her Church, and her Work.

Arlene spent her leisure time cooking, crafting, and playing both the piano and organ. She was the Organist for

Midland Baptist Church for decades. She will be remembered for her loving, gracious, and kind heart.
