Annie Johnson Mullis

Annie Johnson Mullis, affectionately known as "Miss Polly", age 96, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully into her eternal Heavenly Home on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Miss Polly was born January 13, 1930 in Lillington, North Carolina to the late McDuffie Johnson and the late Annie Elizabeth Turlington Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Clifford Mullis in 2016; sister, Maver Ford; and brother, LaVon "Bonnie" Johnson.

Miss Polly loved her family and her church dearly. She was a charter member of United Love Baptist Church and was an active member of the Go Club. For years, Miss Polly and her husband loved traveling and attending square dances. She loved to share flowers from her garden with her special friends. Miss Polly worked for Mecklenburg County in the Veteran's Office and the Tax Collector's Office for more than twenty years. She will be truly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Mullis Gettis of Mint Hill, NC; her son, Ronald "Ron" Len Mullis and wife Debbie of Mills River, NC; grandchildren, Heather Gettis Teague of Charlotte, NC, Kelly Mullis Hill and husband Jimmy of Brevard, NC, Kerri Mullis Calloway and husband Brandon of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Daniel Seth Gettis of Denver, NC, Kaitlyn Gundlach and husband Christopher of Taylorsville, UT; great-grandchildren, Avery Calloway, Jaxton Ozbolt, and Joseph Calloway; sister, Doris Turner of Tampa, FL; brother, McDuffie Johnson of Erwin, NC; brother, Ray Johnson of Lillington, NC; and brother, Johnny Johnson of Lillington, NC. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her longtime caregivers, Melanie Cook and Pam Hamilton.

A private graveside funeral service will be held at United Love Baptist Church Cemetery in Midland, NC, officiated by Rev. Marvin Tyson.
