Angela Leatherman

Mrs. Angela S. Leatherman, 66, of Kannapolis, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Mrs. Leatherman was born November 5, 1959, in Cabarrus County North Carolina to the late Ralph Dewey Smith and the late Peggy Ann Smith. She was also preceded in death by her son Christopher Leatherman, her brother-in-law Curtis Vance and her niece Kala Martin. 

Angela was always known for getting through life with the biggest smile. Even when battling cancer, she remained positive and hopeful. She was happiest when she was with her kids and grandkids or siblings. She took the time to include everyone in all of her endeavors. One of her favorite things about life was the holidays. She would host all her great nieces and nephews along with her grandkids to have a big Easter celebration. Angela loved giving out gifts at Christmas and celebrating the birth of Christ. One thing you knew about her was she was going to do anything and everything she could to help someone in need. Her joy and spark for life will be greatly missed.

Angela was survived by her husband George Leatherman of Kannapolis and son Bradley Leatherman and wife Erica of Salisbury, NC. Sisters and Brother, Beverly Martin (Bob), Janet Vance (Elston) and Ralph Smith (Linda) of Kannapolis and Concord, NC. Also surviving are her two grandsons Jaxson and Oryn Leatherman of Salisbury, NC.

The family is planning a memorial service at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Friday July 24, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
