Allen Raphue Whitley (Ray), 87, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at Atrium Health Stanly Hospital surrounded by his family.
Allen was born June 2, 1936 in North Carolina to the late Arthur Roe Whitley and Eunice Burris Whitley. He was also preceded in death by wife, Helen Virginia Whitley.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Faith Free Will Baptist Cemetery in New London officiated by Rev. Paul Pickler .
Survivors include sister, Etta Smith of Palestine, NC, brother, Harold Carter, daughter, Eunice Lamb of Oakboro, NC, granddaughter, Elizabeth Lamb and fiancé Micheal Lanier, grandson, Brandon Lamb, and granddaughter in-law Melinda Lamb. Great grandkids Miley, Kenzie, and Leah.
