Alice Hinson

Alice Marie White Hinson, 75, of Belmont, Christian wife and loving mother went to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, November 4th, 2012. Alice was born June 22, 1937, in Lexington, NC to the late John P. and Roxie Floyd White. She was also preceded in death by her young son, Stephen Curtis Hinson; granddaughter Jennifer Wiggins; sisters, Joyce Faulkner, Joan Campbell, Wanda Miller, Hazel Young and brothers, Marion P. White and Jerry White. Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, Sunday School teacher and friend to so many through the years. Her greatest joy was being with her family and taking care of babies and children at the church and home. She retired from JCPenney and shared her smile and laughter with all she encountered. She is survived by her husband, Walter; her sister, Jewel Payne of Charlotte, NC; brother, John White Jr. of Henry River, NC; daughters, Belinda (Thomas) Barnes of Stuart, VA, Pamela (Joseph) Jenkins of Gastonia, NC, Judy (Randy) Morris, and Janice (Glenn) Sawyer all of Belmont, NC, Rhonda (Johnny) Smith of Pickens, SC, Stephanie (David) Jacky of Concord, NC. Alice is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Hartsell Funeral Home Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 and the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, NC. The Rev. Mark Mabry will officiate. The family would like to thank the staff at Gaston Hospice but especially Callie Horne, CNA and Anna Shindler, RN.
