Alice Harward

Alice Marie Ford Harward, 74 years of age, of Oakboro, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Alice was born August 20, 1939 in High Point to the late Jessie Theodore Ford and the late Edna Wilhelminia Fisher Ford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Pastor Don Phillips will be at 11 am on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Albemarle, where she was a member. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery, 16592 St Martin Rd, Albemarle. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Pete Harward of Oakboro; sons, Barry Alexander Harward of Concord and Dale Myrick (Tanya) Harward of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Myrick, Alex, & Rayann Harward; brothers, David (Pam) Ford of New London and Doug (Rahnda) Ford of Little River, SC; sister, Emily Tate of Concord; as well as nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and cousins. Alice graduated from Richfield High School and Pfieffer College. She was a retired teacher having taught in Mecklenburg, and Buncombe Counties, and in the Albemarle City Schools.
