Agnes Gardin

Agnes Elizabeth Gardin, 72 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at home.

She was born February 23, 1942 in North Carolina to the late Jackson Robert Mathis and the late Sally Worley Mathis. She was also preceded in death by husband of 54 years, Wade Junior Gardin; brothers, Lloyd Mathis, and Hugh Mathis.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Todd McSwain. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle, NC.

Survivors include sons, David (Eva) Gardin of Norwood, NC, Danny (Rhonda) Gardin of Wadesboro, NC, and Harold (Amanda) Gardin of Norwood, NC; granddaughters, Melissa (Daniel) Efird, Jennifer (Brett) Gardin, Nicole Gardin, and Tara Gardin; grandsons, Tyler Vanhoy, and Colton Gardin; great-granddaughters, Cheyenne Efird, and, Addison Frick; brothers, James Mathis of Waynesville, NC, and Ted Mathis of Ashville, NC; sister, Carrie Morgan of Asheville, NC.
