Addie Louise Almond, 91, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born May 12, 1934, in North Carolina to the late Millard Pines Huneycutt and the late Janie Luther Huneycutt.

She was also preceded in death by husband, Paul Melvin Almond; son, Barry Lynn Almond; and brothers, Clad, Junior, and Pines Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025, at Lakeview Baptist Church of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm officiated by Reverend Don Burleyson and Pastor Trent Drye. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Louise attended Albemarle High School class of 1952. Later she married Paul Almond and began her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and also great-great-grandmother. She was blessed to have had 5 generations. During her life she worked at Wiscassett Hosiery Mill as a looper, Co-owner/operator and bookkeeper at Almond's Garage with her husband and finally Co-owner-operator of Mountain Brook Golf Course. Her interests were cooking, sewing and playing golf. She and her husband were world travelers with trips around the United States to play different golf courses with one of the most prestigious being Tucson National. After retiring in 2000, she traveled to Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Paris, England and took several trips on cruise ships.

Survivors include daughter, Darlene (George) Burleson; grandchildren, Amy (Mickey) Hammonds, Shane (Manda) Harkey, Shyane (Hernan ) Burleson, Natalie (John) Hinton, and Nathan (Erica) Almond; great-grandchildren, Dale (Lynnsey) Chandler, Samantha (Adrian) Shepherd, Draco and Jada Hammonds (Jaqric ), Jack (Kelsey) and Molly Harkey, Solana Vera Burleson, Amelia and Gus Hinton, Skylar and Willow Almond; and 8 wonderful great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Almond. All together, there are 5 generations, 8 ways.

Donations may be sent to Lakeview Baptist Church of Albemarle and/or Gentiva Hospice, also of Troy NC.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Almond family.
