William Stacey, Sr.

William C. Stacey, Sr., 71, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Stacey was born November 14, 1947 in Flushing, New York to the late Arthur C. Stacey and the late Mary Frances C. Stacey.

Bill loved God, his country and his family. He was very proud of his eight grandchildren and his military accomplishments. Bill was the recipient of three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star to name a few. He was affiliated with Cross Community Church of Albemarle. Bill had a passion for oldies music and history and he loved eating pizza. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Matthew Kirkpatrick. Burial with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Blvd. in Salisbury.

Survivors include wife of 51 years, Freida Stacey of Albemarle; daughter, Kimberly S. Haire and husband Timothy of Locust; son, Jeffery T. Stacey and wife Samantha; grandchildren, Haleigh Hubbard and husband Wesley, Tanner Haire, Daphne Stacey Riley and husband Austin, Makayla Lidy and husband Jacob, Cypress Stacey, Meadow Stacey, Rebecca Stacey, and Elizabeth Stacey; and honorary brother, VIrgil Waddell.
