Virginia Monday

Virginia Partin Monday, age 90, of Locust, NC passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born September 10, 1928 near Willow Springs in Wake County, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Bruce Richardson Partin and the late Ammarillis Allen Partin.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Willie Forest Monday; brothers David Lorraine Partin of Raleigh, and Cleveland Allen Partin of Siler City, NC.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Monday Hill and husband Jimmy of Locust, NC; daughter, Diane Monday and husband Jim Fennell of Gambrills, MD; grandchildren, Leslie Liles and fiance Teddy; Lydia Barbee and husband Justin; Laurie Timberlake and husband Ed; Devlyn Fennell, Ian Fennell; great-grandchildren Otto, Eli, Milo and Max Timberlake, and Samantha and Nathan Barbee; as well as sisters Anna Green Stallings and Emily Currin.

She was a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.  She retired from Belk Stores Services in Charlotte, NC in 1987 after 22 years of service.  She was a longtime member of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg, serving as a pianist, church clerk and associate clerk for a number of years.  She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, Friday, May 17, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Bill Greenwood.  Entombment will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.
