Thomas Smith

Thomas Edwin Smith, Sr. 86, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Smith was born April 9, 1932 to the late Roy Lee, Smith, Sr. and Bethie Naomi Smith Honeycutt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by grandsons, Josiah Gregory Truitt, Shane Deaton; brother, Lee Jay Smith; step-daughter, Peggy Sue Huston,

Tom loved to garden, serve the Lord, going to the beach fishing  and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 1:00 pm, located at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1109 Love St. Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Wayne Lisenby. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include: wife, Juanita Smith; sons, Thomas Edwin Smith, Jr,  Fred Lee Smith,  Trent Andrew Smith; daughters, Debbie Sue Eury, Tammy Faye Wyatt and husband Claude, Terri Truitt and husband Greg, Tracy Ritchie and husband Craig; step-son, Frankie Eugene Houston and wife Debbie; step-daughters, Mary Ann Houston, Wanda Jean McDaniels and husband Alan; grandchildren, Thomas "TJ"  Edwin Smith, III, Nicholas Breeden, James Quincey Smith, Michael Brandon Smith, Shasta Nicole Cauble, Adam Marshall Smith, Kristina Danielle Smith, Brandy Michelle Hill, Danny Joe Eury, Jr., Chad Allen Eury, Emily Lauren Wyatt, Kristian D'Ana Kazim Mustafa, Savannah Dorothy Truitt, Taylor Hope Ritchie Farve, Emma Grace Ritchie, Tara Abigail Smith, Trent Andrew Smith, Jr., Teagan Aubrey Smith; Tina Hiatt, Tonya Deaton, Richard Whitley, Chad Houston, Melissa Houston, Matthew Houston, Stephanie Wall, Kenneth Wall, Brittany Reid, Franklin Swink, Samuel Swink, Rebecca Gilmore, Kristen McDaniel, Josh McDaniel, John McDaniel, Destiny Hiatt, Michael Hiatt, Ava Hiatt; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and brother, Roy Lee Smith, Jr.
