Sylvia Dobson

Sylvia C. Dobson, 79, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Dobson was born July 3, 1938 in Stanly County to the late Charles and Geneva Culp.  She was also preceded in death by beloved husband of 50 years, Ira A. Dobson, Sr., and brother, Michael Culp.

Mrs. Dobson graduated from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1959.  She worked at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in medical, surgical, Ob. Gyn. and pediatrics departments and retired from the maternity department in 1999.  She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.  Mrs. Dobson enjoyed time with her family, church, beach trips and caring for others.

Left behind, beloved son, Andy Dobson and wife, Cindy, of Concord; granddaughter, Kyndall Drew Dobson; many friends and several cousins.

The funeral service will be on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Rev. Bob Tallent and Rev. Tony Biles.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:45 am, prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the West Concord Cemetery.
