Stephen "Wayne" Pigg, Sr., 79, of Midland, NC went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Wayne was born September 13, 1939 in Concord, NC to the late Ruben Furman Pigg and the late Ruby Mae Long Pigg.
Survivors include his wife Judy Haman-Pigg of the home; daughter, Melanie F. Swan and husband Andrew of Monroe, NC; son Stephen W. Pigg, Jr.; as well as his grandchildren Rebecca Schreiner and Mitchell Pigg.
Wayne loved the Lord, his family and his dogs. He retired as an agent with Allstate Insurance after more than 25 years. Wayne was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and driving fast cars. Wayne never met a stranger and was always ready with a story or a joke. He will truly be missed by those who knew him and loved him.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 12700 Idlebrook Rd., Midland, NC. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz. A private graveside service for immediate family only will take place at First Baptist Cemetery in Midland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Ln., Kannapolis, NC 28081; or the American Cancer Society.
