Rev. Hugh Biggers

Rev. Hugh Burris Biggers, 90, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

Hugh was born June 29, 1928 in Concord to the late Cletus James Biggers and the late Retta Bell Burris.  He was also preceded in death by first wife, Margaret Hill Biggers; sister, Helen Sossoman;  and brother, Jim Biggers.

Rev. Biggers served three churches over the past 30 years, Mt. Carmel Baptist of Concord, Sharon Baptist of Danville, VA, and Liberty Baptist of Thomasville, NC.  Hugh was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church, Concord.

Survivors include beloved wife of 30 years, Doris McCurdy Biggers; son, Donald H. Biggers; daughter, Lisa Lippert; grandson, Christopher Biggers; two great-grandsons, Alec and Ian Biggers; brother, Bob Biggers and sister, Linda Helms.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Parkwood Baptist Church, Concord. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Parkwood Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Michael Waters.  Burial will follow at the St. Martin's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
