Ludmilla "Millie" Breckner

May 1, 1927 — September 2, 2019

Concord

Ludmilla (Millie) Breckner, age 92, passed away peacefully into the welcoming eternal arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by family and friends on  Monday, September 2, 2019.

Millie was born May 1, 1927 in Endicott, New York to the late Frank Peter Duffek and the late Elizabeth Duffek, where she was raised attending school throughout her childhood, as 1 of 11 siblings.

Millie knew that one of life's greatest privileges by every measure was to be surrounded by children, family and friends.  First and foremost Millie made a home for family filled with love, laughter and fun.  She always enjoyed the Polka and all kinds of dancing.  The amazing aroma of delicious homemade Slovak dishes, Strudel and deserts were a welcome to all; especially her secret recipe for her dill pickles!

Millie was high spirited and positive in all challenges that came before her on a daily basis.  Millie always worked hard and never quite until her personal goals on her farm were accomplished to her satisfaction.  She cherished her husband and 3 sons. As a mother she made many sacrifices to insure her family had the opportunities in life she didn't. Millie LOVED her family!!!!!!!!!!

Millie was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George John Breckner, who was also the love of her life.  Her parents; Frank Peter Duffek Sr. & Elizabeth Duffek. She was also preceded in death by brothers; Joes Duffek and wife, Wilma; Fred Duffek and wife, Joanne; Frank Duffek and wife, Donna. Sisters; Mary and husband, Ben Andrews; Betty and husband, Joe Shuta.

In 1977 Millie and George had the opportunity to move to Concord, North Carolina to help pioneer the start of a new IBM location.  During this time the two sweethearts found another love.... it lead them to their once upon a time fairy tale dream; an Angus Cattle Farm. A true labor of love, which they enjoyed!  They loved working together, meeting new friends and everyday was always an adventure together to the end!

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm, Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Mt. Herman Luthern Church. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Mt. Herman Luthern Church in Concord, officiated by Rev. Carrie Bishop. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Cemetery at 3600 Hwy 601 S., Concord.

Millie is survived by sons; Dennis Breckner, Gary Breckner and Kevin Breckner of Concord, NC.  Grandchildren; John Breckner (wife, Andrea Virginia), Kelly Riedlinger (husband, Darren) Great Grandchildren; Jason and Lauryn Breckner and Zachary Riedlinger.  Brother; Stephen Duffek (wife Pat).  Sisters; Jenny Juodotis (husband, Frank), Margaret Smith (husband, John) and Francis Neschleba (husband, Frank), all from Endicott NY.  She also leaves behind a special companion and baby, Little Chi-Chi of 20 years.

The family of Millie Breckner would like to sincerely thank the wonderful Hospice Care Givers. A special thanks to Michele Jesonoski who unselfishly of herself day and night, that enriched Millie's life until the end.
