Lillie Helms

Lillie Mae Helms, 88, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Mrs. Helms was born October 19, 1929 in Stanly County to the late James Richard Burris and the late Letha Smith Burris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Helms; a son, David Helms; sister, Cleonia  Efird and brother, Dewey Burris.

In her younger years, Lillie Mae enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was a dedicated wife and mother to her family.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM - 2:45 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro. The funeral service will be held in the church sanctuary at 3:00 PM officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include son, Gary Helms and wife Tammie of Oakboro; grandchildren, Abby Brook Burleson and Dillon Worth Burleson.
