Lewis Cornett

Lewis M. Cornett, Sr. 80, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Hospice Union County.

Mr. Cornett was born February 28, 1938 to the late Abraham Lincoln and Arey Love Cornett.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 am, located at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tom Gibbs. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Mt View Baptist Church Cemetery at Mountainview Baptist Church Rd, Deep Gap, NC.

Survivors include: wife of 57 years, Blinda Carlene Cornett; sons, Lewis M. Cornett, Jr. and wife Kelly, Brian Cornett; grandchildren, Keisha Locy, Aleah Cornett, Jennah Fredrick, Ryan Cornett, Nathan Cornett; six great-grandchildren; brother, Luke Cornett, John Cornett; sister, Vangeline Ward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. View Baptist Church, C/O Creed Greene, 1560 Stony Fork Rd. Deep Gap, NC 28618.
