Lawrence Efird

Lawrence Timothy Efird, 88 years of age, of Locust, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Carolinas HealthCare System University in Charlotte.

Lawrence was born November 18, 1929 in Union County, NC to the late Earnest Lee Efird and the late Edna Baucom Efird.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Friday at 3:00 pm at Dulin's Grove Advent Christian Church in Charlotte and will be officiated by Rev. Matthew Broadway. Burial will follow at the Locust First Baptist Cemetery at 320 South Central Ave., Locust.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Hinson Efird of Locust; two daughters, Darlene Huntley of Monroe, and Amy Russell of Indian Trail; two grandsons, Marty (Teresa) Huntley of Monroe, and Timothy (Annie) Huntley of Midland; two granddaughters, Allison (Matt) Russell of Monroe, and Amber Russell of Indian Trail; two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne and Allison; sister, Ruth Piper; special brother-in-law, Paul Hinson; and special sister-in-law, Kathy Smith.
