Judy Chunn

On Sept. 26, 2019, Judy Ann Furr Chunn met her spiritual and biological fathers in heaven for the first time, following an extended illness.
Born May 2, 1945 in Concord, NC, she was the daughter of Fred Dickson Furr and Alberta Rollins Furr Hunsucker and step-daughter to Lonnie J. Hunsucker.
She was a loving wife to her husband, Ted, who she was married to for 58 years. Together, they were the proud parents of their sons, Michael (Vicki) and Todd (Angela). She was the doting grandmother to three grandchildren, McKenzie (Cory) Edwards, Pavin Chunn and Michael Riordan and two great granddaughters, Fraley and Brixtan Edwards. Judy was a supportive, caring sister to her siblings, Tamara Beth Kastler and Joel (Lynn) Hunsucker and quasi-sister cousin, Billie Rose (Michael) Watts.  She was a supportive aunt to her nieces, Keri Biles, Courtney and Haley Hunsucker  and nephews, Quentin and Evan Biles.
Judy attended the University of NC at Charlotte, receiving a Secretary of Science degree. Judy enjoyed a 30-year career in banking where she served in many roles starting at Piedmont Bank, raising from teller to Assistant Vice President.  Her leadership as president of the Concord Chapter of the Credit Women International earned her an Outstanding Young Women of America Award for 1979.
In addition to her family, her main loves were traveling to the beach, creating beautiful crocheted work, and collecting porcelain dolls and antique Hobnail glassware. Always close by her side were her beloved doggies, Bear and China.

On Friday, Sept. 27th, visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home on Branchview Drive NE, Concord, with a chapel service at Hartsell Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m.
