J Smith

J. Ray Smith, 86 years of age, of New London, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Mr. Smith was born September 5, 1931 to the late Sam Jones and Emma Belle Morris Smith. In addition to his parents, Ray was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Smith and his brother, Eugene Smith.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am, Friday, February 9, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will conclude at the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle.

Survivors include: son, Joe Smith and wife Lori; daughter, Chris Burris; son, Keith Smith; grandchildren Jennifer (Zack) Sacchitella, Lisa (Brandon) Bogumil, Jacob (Alex) Smith; great-grandchildren, Arkham Bogumil, Samuel and Maggie Smith.
