Flora Little, 91, of Monroe, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 6, 2019 with her family by her side.
Flora was born on April 3, 1928 to the late Wriston Lee Tomberlin and Flora Mae Rushing Tomberlin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Onas Alexander Little; brothers Buster Tomberlin, J.W. (Bootie) Tomberlin, and Bobby Lynn (Brock) Tomberlin; and sister Glenda Kay Kiker.
She is survived by daughter Sharon Honeycutt and husband Roger; son Gary Little and wife Pebbles, all of Monroe; grandchildren Lisa Honeycutt Owings (Barry) of Wilmington, NC and Richie Honeycutt (and friend Kami) of Monroe; two great grandchildren, Mallory Owings of Raleigh, NC and Seth Owings of Wilmington, NC.
Flora is also survived by sisters Deane Simpson, Faynell Greene, Peggy Hinson and Doris Greene; and brothers James Tomberlin and Wilburn Tomberlin.
Flora was a member of Shiloh Advent Christian Church. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed being outside. She was famous for her fried apple pies.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Union County.
