Dallas Clay

Dallas Ray Clay, 72, of Concord, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 11, 2018 at home with family by his side.

Dallas was born September 8, 1945 in Harrisburg, NC to the late Eugene and Ethel May Clay.  He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Eugene Clay, Jr.

Dallas leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 1/2 years, Judy Greene Clay; son, Westley Clay; granddaughter, Madison Clay; and grandsons, Austin Clay Kluttz and Jaxson Fetterly.

Judy and Dallas were high school sweethearts.  One of his greatest joys was being "PawPaw."  The family loved summers spend at their lake home.  Dallas was true and loyal to his family, especially when his wife and brother were in the hospital.  His loyal cat, Cheerio, followed him everywhere.  Dallas also loved to smoke Winston Ultra Light 100s.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, May 14, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 509 W 22nd St., Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. George Morris.  Burial will follow Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, Concord.
