Clarice Honeycutt

Clarice Morris Honeycutt, 92, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at home, with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Honeycutt was born a child of the Great Depression, October 2, 1926, in Kannapolis, NC to the late C.C. and Geneva Morris.  She was also preceded in death by husband, O.L. Honeycutt; brother, George Morris; and sister, June Waller.

Mrs. Honeycutt was a 1944 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School.  She attended Wingate College, and after the war ended, married the love of her life, Oscar Lee Honeycutt.  Mrs. Honeycutt was a member of the "greatest generation" and supported the WWII effort by working two summers in aircraft manufacturing plants in Wilmington NC and Atlanta GA.  She was a founding member of Providence Baptist Church, Harrisburg NC.  Mrs. Honeycutt loved church, Bible study, gardening and family.

Survivors include daughter, Sandra "Sandy" (John) Honeycutt Measmer of Spring, TX; son, Wayne "Bob" Honeycutt of Harrisburg, NC; five grandchildren, whom she adored, Matthew Measmer of Deer Park TX, Carrie Perkins of Spring TX, Paige (Rob) Patterson of Spring TX, Glendie (Adrian) Cobb of Harrisburg NC, and Rebba (Jason) Clayton of Harrisburg NC; and also many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm, Friday, June 21, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church, Harrisburg, NC.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Rody Carland and Rev. John Cashwell.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
