Charles Thomas

Charles Ray Thomas, 83, of Indian Trail, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, February 16, 2019 at home.

Ray was born August 4, 1935 in Monroe to the late Charlie and Lula Thomas.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Jeanette Thomas; sisters, Frances Rowell, Martha Clontz and Doris Keziah; and brother, Jimmy Thomas.

Ray was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  Ray enjoyed working as a tire sales professional for many years.  He loved spending time with his family, friends and grandkids.

Survivors include son, Charles Ray Thomas, Jr. and wife, Rita Thomas; son, Michael Ray Thomas and wife, Stephanie Thomas; daughter, Sandra Thomas Black and husband, Hugh Mac Black, Jr.; and eight grandchildren, Brandon, Megan, Joshua, Caleb, Noah, Samuel, Alie and Logan; and the first great-grandson due in July.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Midland Chapel with Rev. Steve Sexton officiating. Ray and Shirley will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery.
