Carolyn Sides

Carolyn Kennedy Sides, 80, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at her home with her daughters by her side.

Mrs. Sides was born August 19, 1938 in Cabarrus County to the late Vander Kennedy and the late Letha Barbee Kennedy.  She was also preceded in death by husband, Dwight Sides; son, Gary Dwight Sides; brothers, Marcus and Otto Kennedy; and sisters, Jewel Sifford and Cyiable Biggers.

Mrs. Sides was a supportive member of Canton Baptist Church.  She was a loving mother and grandma.

Survivors include daughter, Diane (Randy) Stewart of Thomasville; daughter, Linda (Jack) Wallace of Albemarle; grandchildren, Meredith (Robbie) Foust, Matthew (Stephanie) Stewart, Mark (Kelly) Stewart, and Laura Wallace; great-grandchildren, Alice, Kate, Lyla, and Makenzie; sister, Betty Witmore of Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Canton Baptist Church, 24615 Endy Rd, Albemarle.  The funeral service will be on Sunday at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Dr. Mark Mabry.  Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Oakboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 North First St, Albemarle NC 28001.
