Carolyn Gray

Carolyn Greene Gray, 84, of Concord, went home to join her husband James in heaven on Thursday, August 16, 2018.  She spent her final days peacefully with her family by her side at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Carolyn was born May 4, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant, NC.  She spent her childhood on her family's farm learning the value of honest hard work and the importance of a strong faith in God.  After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, Carolyn met the love of her life, James.  They were married in 1953.  She retired in 1999 from a long career at Collins & Aikman/Mastercraft.  Carolyn lived a life of faith, devotion, generosity and kindness that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.  She loved reading and spending time with her family.  One of her greatest joys was shopping for school supplies each year for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but will live on in their hearts and memories forever.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel officiated by Pastor Tim Yates.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Survivors include daughter Vickie Bell of Kannapolis; daughter Lori Krimminger of Concord; grandson Jason Burris and wife Erin; grandson Barrett Krimminger; granddaughter Alayna Krimminger; and great-grandchildren Luke and Clara Burris
