Billy "Bill" Marvin Queen, 75, of Concord, NC died after an extended illness early Saturday morning, January 6, 2018 in his home in Concord with his family by his side.

Mr. Queen was born, Thursday, August 20, 1942 in Harrisburg, NC to the late Thomas Marvin and Oretha Kathleen (Garmon) Queen.

On June 12, 1964 in Harrisburg, he married his loving wife of 52 years, the former Willa Sharon Pope who survives.

He leaves behind to treasure his memory his loving wife, Sharon of Concord and his three devoted children, Eddie E. Queen of Charlotte, Lisa A. Hardin of Rowan County and Leslie Q. (Rusty) Russ also of Concord, NC; also surviving are three grandchildren, Dustin, Brittany and Austin; nine brothers and sisters, JoAnn Morgan, Loraine Taylor, Harold (JoAnn) Queen, James (Kay) Queen, Butch (Ruby) Queen, Patsy (Walter) Wright, Judy Cole, Johnny Queen and Marshall (Denise) Queen.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:45 p.m. with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Harrisburg Chapel with Rev. Ray Helms to officiate. At the family's request there will be private graveside services on Thursday afternoon, January 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg, NC.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Queen to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5005 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081 .

Bill will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family and many close friends. May God grant him eternal rest.
