Thelma Burris

Thelma Lefler Burris, 88, of Concord passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Burris was born September 30, 1933, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late William Lee Lefler and the late Lennie Ford Lefler. She was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Eugene Burris; son, Ronald Eugene Burris; sister, Shirley Burris.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home and will be officiated by Pastor Bob Tallent. Burial will follow at the West Concord Cemetery located at 331 Union Cemetery Rd SW, Concord.

Thelma Burris was known by many names. By her patients at Northeast Medical Center, a spirited and truly selfless Care Partner of 44-years. By her husband, a devoted wife of 64-years and the woman who purchased the very first pair of new shoes he ever owned. By her 2 sons, a mother who worked tirelessly to provide a safe and happy home filled with boundless opportunities. And finally, by her grandkids, a grandmother that spoiled them endlessly while serving as a fortitude of lifelong wisdom. During her free time, Thelma enjoyed sewing, baking, and completing the occasional crossword puzzle.

Survivors include son, Larry Wayne Burris, Sr. of Concord, NC; grandson, Larry Wayne Burris, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL; granddaughter, Olivia Diane Burris of Charlotte, NC; sister, Atha Gray of Concord, NC; nephew, Jerry Burris of Concord, NC; and nephew, Randy Burris of Mooresville, NC.
