Elizabeth Schmitt

September 16, 1986 — May 4, 2021

Goldsbro

Elizabeth Taylor Jeffreys Schmitt, 34, passed away on May 4, 2021. She was born in Goldsboro, NC on September 16, 1986.

Liz attended Wayne Country Day School for 12 years before graduating in 2005 from St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, VA. She attended East Carolina University and went on to Wells Fargo as a Work Manager.

Liz married the love of her life, Tyler, in 2015. Ever adventurous and brave, she moved across the country to Denver, CO in 2012, later Phoenix, AZ in 2017, and recently to Charlotte, NC to be closer to family where her life ended too soon.

Liz was funny, outgoing, vivacious, and loved those close to her fiercely. She could brighten a room the instant she entered it. Ruger, Roma, and Ramsey, her dog children, and cat child, Dezi, were always along for the ride. Concerts, Panthers football, and Happening (a Christian experience presented by teenagers, for teenagers with the help of clergy and lay adult leadership) were some of her passions.

We will always remember her infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes, and bigger than life personality. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband, Tyler Schmitt of Charlotte, NC; her mother and step-father, Karla and Larry Nickens of Knoxville, TN; her father, James T. Jeffreys, III of Knoxville, TN; her sister, Kathryn Jeffreys Rowlett, and husband, Levi of Knoxville, TN; nephew, Hunter Rowlett; niece, Sterling Rowlett; mother-in law, Jean Farr and husband, Tim of Grand Junction, CO; father-in-law, Tom Schmitt and wife, Judy of Beaver Dam, WI; sister-in-laws Bridgett Mancera and Ally Farr of Grand Junction, CO; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and best friend, Becca Maloney of Wake Forest, NC.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Jeffreys, Jr., and Mr. & Mrs. Robert A. Norris.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Goldsboro on Tuesday, May 11 at 2:00. Family will receive friends following the service.
