Albert Lawson "Homer" Woody

Albert Lawson (Homer) Woody Jr., 58, of Stanfield, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center in Charlotte.

Mr. Woody was born April 19, 1963 in Waynesville, North Carolina to the late Albert Lawson Woody, Sr. and the late Evelyn Inez Riddle Woody.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Avenue in Midland.

Homer Woody was a traditionally trained Tree Climber exceptionally skilled in the Trade and Business, owner of the multi-generational tree business Woody's Tree Service. Homer was a friend to many, devoted family man, and could be found around the comfort of a bon fire at home or on the river in his leisure. Homer was always in the company of his grandchildren reading and playing making them smile and laugh even when he was a phone call away.

Homer is survived by his daughter, Jessica Strube of Gaston, NC; son, Jonathan Woody of Stanfield; his former wife, Connie Woody Schuck; fiancée, Penny McConnell; Jordan Bowers and Tiffani McConnell of Stanfield; five grandchildren, Evelyn Nichole Woody age 13, James Lawson Woody age 10, Remington Gage Harrington age 2, Chase Ray Bowers age 4, Kash Jay Bowers age 2. Homer had five surviving siblings Linda Shue, Frances Blake, Brenda Stidem, Marvin Woody, and Timothy Woody.
