Bonnie Nicholson Pethel

Bonnie Nicholson Pethel, 82, of Locust, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

Bonnie was born April 23, 1938 in Kannapolis to the late Thomas and Annie Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Oscar "Bud" Pethel; son, Roger Dale Pethel; and 4 siblings.

She was well-known in the community as Mam-Maw Bonnie. She was a dedicated member of Carolina Presbyterian Church of Locust. She loved everyone and was always very selfless. Bonnie was the matriarch of our family and will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. David Yoran. Bonnie will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Survivors include son, Tim (Toni) Pethel; daughter, Donna (Donald) Brooks; daughter, Kathy (Tony) Smith; 8 grandchildren, Brian,Cory, Anthony,Justin,Cody, Jerika, Chris and Matthew; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; a sister; and several nieces and nephews.
